1. Eligibility and age policy

You must be at least 18 years old to purchase the Course.

If we permit access by a person under 18, a parent or legal guardian must purchase the Course, accept these terms on that person’s behalf, and remain responsible for ensuring appropriate supervision and safe participation.

We may suspend access if we reasonably believe these age or consent requirements have not been met.

2. Voluntary participation and assumption of risk

Self-defence and physical training involve a risk of injury, including muscle strains, joint injuries, falls, bruising, and, in more serious cases, significant injury. You choose to participate voluntarily and accept that risk.

You are responsible for deciding whether participation is appropriate for you. You must:

  • Follow all instructions, safety guidance, warm-ups, progressions, and restrictions provided in the Course.
  • Train within your own ability, fitness level, experience, and physical condition.
  • Stop immediately if you experience pain, dizziness, breathlessness, chest pain, nausea, or any other concerning symptom.
  • Seek medical advice before participating if you have an injury, medical condition, are pregnant, or have any concern about safely undertaking physical activity.

If you have any doubt about whether an exercise is safe for you, do not perform it.

3. Home and partner training safety

This Course is intended primarily for independent home study. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your training area is safe and suitable before beginning any physical activity.

Before training, you must ensure that:

  • You have enough clear space to move safely.
  • The floor is suitable, dry, and free from trip hazards.
  • Furniture, glass, sharp objects, and other hazards are removed or protected.
  • You wear suitable clothing and footwear, unless an exercise expressly requires otherwise and it is safe to train barefoot.
  • You do not train while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication that may impair your judgement, balance, or coordination.

If the Course includes partner training, you must only train with a willing, suitable partner. You must agree on controlled intensity, use appropriate protective equipment where recommended, and stop immediately if either person asks you to stop.

You must not use full-force strikes, particularly to the head, neck, throat, spine, joints, or groin. You must not use live weapons, sharp objects, or improvised weapons during training.

4. Personal self-defence use only

All techniques, concepts, and Course Content are provided for lawful personal self-defence and personal safety education only.

You agree that you will not use the Course Content to threaten, harass, intimidate, injure, or harm any person, or to encourage or assist any unlawful activity.

You are responsible for understanding and complying with the laws applicable in your country and jurisdiction. Self-defence laws differ between countries, and what may be lawful in one situation or location may not be lawful in another.

5. Teaching others

This Course is provided for your personal development and private study only.

Nothing in these terms permits you to share, publicly demonstrate, reproduce, distribute, teach, or use Course Content for instruction without our prior written permission and, where applicable, a current valid instructor certification issued directly by Spartans KM International.

You must not represent that you are authorised, endorsed, accredited, or certified by Spartans KM International / Spartans EDU unless we have expressly confirmed this in writing.

6. No guarantee of real-life effectiveness

Self-defence techniques are taught in a controlled training environment. Real-life confrontations are unpredictable and may involve factors outside your control, including the size, strength, intent, and aggression of another person; weapons; multiple attackers; surroundings; stress, fear, fatigue, injury, alcohol, or drugs.

We do not guarantee that any technique, concept, or skill taught in this Course will be effective in any particular real-life situation, or that participation in the Course will prevent injury, assault, or harm.

No self-defence system can guarantee personal safety in every situation. Your safety and decisions in a real-life situation remain your own responsibility.

7. Course access, licence, and platform availability

Your Course access begins when we confirm your purchase and continues for 12 months from the date of purchase, unless ended earlier in accordance with these terms.

Your exact access end date will be stated in your purchase-confirmation email.

We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to access the Course Content for your own private study only. This licence may be ended only where you materially breach these terms or where we are legally required to end it.

You must not:

  • Share your login details or Course access with any other person.
  • Download, record, copy, reproduce, distribute, resell, publish, or publicly display Course Content, except that you may download materials where we expressly make them available for download through the Course Platform for your personal private study.
  • Use Course Content to create competing training materials or instructor courses.
  • Use Course Content for commercial purposes without our prior written permission.

We will use reasonable care and skill to make the Course Platform available during your access period. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability, including where downtime is reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, updates, or matters outside our reasonable control.

Where reasonably practicable, we will seek to minimise disruption and restore access within a reasonable time.

8. Intellectual property

All intellectual property rights in the Course Content are owned by us or our licensors. Your access licence does not transfer ownership of any Course Content to you. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

You may make only such temporary copies as are technically necessary to access the Course through the Course Platform, together with any downloads that we expressly make available through the Course Platform for your personal private study.

You must not remove, obscure, or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices included in the Course Content.

9. Changes to the Course

We may update the Course to reflect legal, regulatory, security, technical, or operational requirements, or to improve its content.

We will not materially reduce the core content or functionality you paid for unless reasonably necessary because of legal, regulatory, security, technical, or operational requirements, or because equivalent or improved replacement content is provided.

Where a change is likely to materially and adversely affect your access to, or use of, the Course, we will give reasonable notice where practicable and explain the nature of the change.

Where required by law, you may have rights to end the contract or receive an appropriate remedy.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access where you materially breach these terms, including by:

  • Sharing access credentials.
  • Unlawfully copying or distributing Course Content.
  • Using Course Content for unlawful purposes.
  • Presenting yourself as an authorised or certified Spartans instructor without a valid certification.

Where the breach can reasonably be remedied, we will normally give you notice and a reasonable opportunity to remedy it before terminating access.

This does not affect any rights or remedies available to you by law.

11. Cancellation rights and immediate access

If you are a Consumer, you have a legal right to cancel your purchase within 14 days after entering into the contract, unless an exception applies.

Where you expressly request immediate access to Digital Course Content before the end of that 14-day period and acknowledge that you will lose your cancellation right once supply begins, you will lose that right when supply of the Digital Course Content begins.

Nothing in these terms affects any statutory rights you may have where Digital Course Content is faulty, not as described, or otherwise does not meet the applicable legal standard.

How to cancel

To exercise any applicable cancellation right, you must notify us by a clear statement—for example, by email to [email protected]—before the cancellation period ends.

You may use the model cancellation form below, but you are not required to do so.

13. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for:

Subject always to the preceding provisions of this clause and to the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Course shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the Course giving rise to the claim.

This limitation does not apply where it would unlawfully exclude or restrict a Consumer’s statutory rights or remedies.

We will acknowledge your complaint within 2 working days and aim to resolve it promptly and fairly.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.

16. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction over disputes arising in connection with the Course or these terms, except where mandatory law gives a Consumer the right to bring proceedings in the courts of their country of residence.

Nothing in these terms deprives a Consumer of protections that cannot lawfully be excluded under the law of their country of residence.
