Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our Krav Maga courses, enrolment, payments and training. Can’t find your answer? Contact us.

Access & Technical

How do I access my course after I buy it?

As soon as your payment is confirmed, your course unlocks in your member dashboard. Log in anytime to stream the lessons, track your progress and pick up exactly where you left off. Access is immediate, with no waiting and nothing to ship.

Can I watch the lessons on my phone?

Yes. The platform works on phones, tablets, laptops and desktops, so you can follow your Krav Maga training wherever you are. Lessons stream in your browser — no app required — and your progress stays in sync across every device.

Age & Eligibility

What is the minimum age to enrol?

The minimum age for our online courses is 16. For anyone under 18, a parent or guardian must be the account holder and make the purchase, and must provide consent before training begins. This keeps enrolment compliant with UK guidelines while giving younger students access to quality self defence training.

Can under-18s take the courses?

Yes, with parental involvement. Students aged 16 and 17 can train when a parent or guardian is the account holder and purchaser and has given consent. This ensures younger trainees learn self defence safely and with appropriate supervision.

Certification

How do I become a certified Krav Maga instructor?

Complete our online Instructor Course Level 1, then Level 2 to advance. Each level combines the Krav Maga syllabus with teaching methodology and practical assessment. Certification is assessed and awarded directly by Spartans KM International once you complete the required assessments.

Is the Spartans instructor certification recognised?

Spartans Academy is affiliated with respected Krav Maga bodies including the IKMF, Krav Maga Global, Core Krav Maga and Protect Academy. Your certification is issued by Spartans KM International and reflects the standards developed across these affiliations and our years of professional instruction.

How is the instructor certification assessed?

Assessment combines your technical ability with your teaching methodology. You submit practical video assessments through your member dashboard, which are reviewed by certified Spartans instructors. You will either be approved or asked to resubmit with specific feedback, so you finish genuinely ready to teach.

Can I teach Krav Maga after completing Level 1?

Yes. Level 1 certification qualifies you to teach the core Krav Maga curriculum and run safe, structured self defence classes. Level 2 then lets you deliver advanced material and help develop other instructors, and licensed instructors can access our ongoing CPD resources.

Courses & Enrolment

Do I need any prior experience to start?

No. Our online Krav Maga courses take you from complete beginner to confident practitioner with clear, step-by-step video lessons you follow at your own pace. If you have trained before, you can move through the fundamentals quickly and focus on sharpening your self defence skills.

What Krav Maga courses does Spartans EDU offer?

Spartans EDU offers a Premium online Krav Maga course for everyday self defence, Instructor Certification Levels 1 and 2 for those who want to teach, a Members Only library of ongoing training, and a Licensed Instructors Hub. You can browse every option on our courses page.

Can I really learn Krav Maga online?

Yes. Every technique is filmed in detail by certified Spartans instructors, giving you clearer instruction and unlimited repetition than a weekly class allows. Online Krav Maga training lets you drill practical self defence anywhere, at your own pace, and revisit any lesson whenever you need.

How long do I have access to a course?

Course access runs for 12 months from the date of purchase, unless the specific plan states otherwise. Your exact access end date is confirmed in your purchase email.

What space and equipment do I need to train at home?

Very little. A small, clear area free of hazards is enough to begin, and most lessons can be practised solo with no special equipment. Partner drills are clearly marked for when you train with someone, so you can start your self defence training today.

Payments & Refunds

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major debit and credit cards, plus PayPal, through our secure checkout. Prices are shown in GBP.

How much do the courses cost?

Pricing depends on the course. Our Premium online Krav Maga membership is a low monthly subscription, with discounted 6- and 12-month plans, while the Instructor Certification courses are one-off fees. You can see current pricing for every course on our courses page.

Is the Premium membership a recurring subscription?

The monthly Premium plan renews automatically each month and you can cancel anytime — your access continues until the end of the paid month. If you prefer to pay once, the 6- and 12-month plans are paid upfront and do not auto-renew.

Can I get a refund?

As a consumer you have a 14-day cancellation right, unless you request immediate access to digital content and waive that right at checkout. See our Terms & Conditions for full details.

Training & Safety

Is training at home safe?

Yes, when you follow the safety guidance in each lesson. Always train in a clear, hazard-free space, warm up properly, and stop if you feel pain or dizziness. Please read our Disclaimer before training.

Is Krav Maga effective for real self defence?

Krav Maga is built specifically for real-world self defence rather than sport or tradition. It uses simple, instinctive movements that hold up under stress, teaching you to recognise danger early, defend against common attacks and escape safely — practical skills anyone can learn regardless of size or strength.

Are the courses suitable for women’s self defence?

Yes. Krav Maga relies on technique, leverage and timing rather than size or strength, which makes it one of the most practical approaches to women’s self defence. Our courses cover the situations women are most likely to face, taught in clear detail you can practise at home.

What surface should I train on?

Train on a stable, realistic surface such as grass, tarmac, gravel or a paved area, like the ground you would actually encounter. Make sure the space is clear of hazards and wear suitable footwear, and avoid slippery or cluttered areas so you can move safely.
